United Methodist Churchof Westlake Village

A Caring Christian Community

The words “To love and to cherish” from the marriage ceremony are just as significant to a wedding couple today as when they were first given, many hundreds of years ago. When you repeat them, you will be stepping into a tradition in which countless other couples have also stood. Our church is here to serve you within the bounds of our tradition and the sacred tradition of marriage with the hope that your marriage ceremony will be the finest possible. The sanctuary, prayer chapel, and other rooms in our facility are available for large or small weddings. Only United Methodist ministers can officiate services at our church.

Counseling by the pastor is required. This time of getting acquainted and counseling is an invaluable aid in providing for an enduring marriage and the development of a marriage service you will appreciate and long remember. This time will be scheduled with the pastor and should be held as soon as possible and as far before the marriage date as can be arranged. Contact one of the pastors by email (walt@umcwv.org or rachel@umcwv.org) or by phone at the church office to schedule.

A home wedding can also be a beautiful and meaningful occasion. If you would like to hold your wedding in a home, a garden or any other setting that might be special to you, please contact a pastor. One of them will be glad to discuss and help you plan this kind of a wedding and set up a date and time.

The church has a wedding hostess who will discuss wedding ceremony details and fees for use of the church with each couple. She may be contacted by email (vinia@umcwv.org) or by phone at the church office.
